Keep Commerce Human - An Etsy Campaign

Still from the film by MHF Creative

Etsy holds a special place in our hearts. It was the first platform we started selling on as Every Story, and we continue to do so to this day. Their commitment to small businesses and the beauty of handcrafted products is something to be treasured in a world where mass production dominates.

We were fortunate enough to be part of their recent campaign Keep Commerce Human which aims to tell the story of the maker. By putting a face - or faces - behind the brand, it gives consumers insight into each business, helping them understand where their purchases come from and the love and care that goes in to making it.

‘Our sellers are the heart of our marketplace, and their unique human touch is what makes Etsy, Etsy. We encourage you to explore their stories and join us as we celebrate the individuality, creativity, and the meaningful connections that make every purchase on Etsy special.’

You may have seen that Etsy is featuring its sellers in their digital content, including social media, email, TV advertising, and even billboards throughout New York and London—highlighting the unique role each maker plays in creating their products.

While we didn’t make it onto a billboard, the Etsy team did pay us a visit at our rustic studio in the Vale of Belvoir, along with the MHF Creative film crew. They spent the day with us in the studio, capturing us at work, listening to our stories and enjoying the infamous ginger biscuits baked by our lovely mum, Janet - there wasn’t a crumb left by the end of the day.

We all had such a fun day, despite the initial nerves kicking in as soon as the cameras started rolling. The team were so patient with us and before we knew it, we’d ticked off most of the shoot list.

You can watch the final edit here. You may even spot Janet and her ginger biscuits, as well as the third member of our team, Barley.

Don’t forget to visit Etsy and discover the lovely treasures waiting to be found!
