In The Studio 09.23

We hope you’ve been having a wonderful summer amongst the unpredictable British weather of storms and glorious sunshine!

Our new home studios have made such a difference this year, the extra kiln capacity and space means we’ve been able to work on bespoke projects in a dedicated space whilst continuing production of our own collections. With everything that’s been going on we wanted to share a little update of some exciting projects we’ve been working on recently.

Firstly, we had a lovely order of plates and bowls from the wonderful Land Restaurant. We were asked to make a set of porcelain plates and white flecked cereal bowls, as well some bespoke pieces based on our Nouri pinch bowl design. These were loved so much that as soon as they received them they placed an order for more! We must admit, we were very in love with the larger size of the Nouri Pinch Bowls...! 2023 saw us become suppliers of the Clarence Court egg boutique, you can find our 9 and 12 egg trays on their website as well as our own. One of the first products we made as every story and our beloved egg trays are still as popular as ever. Read the journal entry here

We introduced a new product into the Settle X Every Story Collection in the form of a beautiful lemon juicer. We are so pleased with how this piece turned out and always love how India Hobson captures our ceramics in her beautiful photography. Read the journal entry here

Another exciting piece of news is that our ceramics will feature in their first TV cameo as part of a new series which is being filmed this year as part of Disney+ and ITV (we’ll share more when we can!)

We recently completed a set of Every Story ceramics for Hire Twenty One, an events hire company founded by the lovely Elsbeth. Including plates, serving platters, bowls and dipping bowls, our ceramics have been used for some wonderful occasions over the summer. We’ll be sharing a whole post about Elsbeth soon, including an incredible shoot she was part of, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

A first for us and something we’re so excited to make more of in the future... we made a bespoke stoneware basin for Broomhill Interiors. The sink is yet to be fitted, but we’ve heard it’s on the horizon and we’re SO excited to see it in place! We will of course share the finished result with you. Read the journal entry here

We went international and had some exciting interior projects in Canada which included our Cassia and Cove vases.

We were delighted to see Gemma, owner of A Peculiar Tea restaurant, on Great British Menu using some of our plates to serve her delicious creations on to the judges. This was Gemma’s third time competing in Great British Menu and we made sure to tune in every evening to see what masterpieces she came up with. Click here to read the full post. Hannah headed off on a trip of a lifetime to Canada in May, luckily we have the photos to prove it even though there was an incident with a kayak and an iphone, you can read the full travel story here. Abby also went on an adventure, this time to Kefalonia, climbing mountains, sipping cocktails on the beach and finding lots of inspiration along the way.

We’re also hoping to book some European trips together this year, it’s always such a great way to get inspired, explore local culture, colour palettes and of course restaurants, for research purposes. On our list is Lisbon, Porto, Seville and Fortalux to name a few, please let us know if you have any recommendations!

We visited Cambridge a couple of times, firstly to experience the Lucie Rie exhibition and then to spend the whole day taking in the incredible Fitzwilliam gallery. Read the journal entry here

The beginning of July also saw the launch of our Summer Studio Sale, which was so well received. It’s always a nerve-wracking moment when the sale goes live and we quickly check to make sure everything is running smoothly. We almost sold out of everything, it’s amazing to know that so many of our pieces have lovely homes to go to. If you haven’t experienced one of our sales before they consist of ‘seconds’, ‘end of line’ and ‘one off pieces’. We aim to have them twice a year in Summer and Autumn, or we may throw an extra one in there as a surprise! Our subscribers get first access before its announced on Instagram an hour later, although most pieces have gone by then. If you’d like to be the first to hear about future sales, please do sign up to be a subscriber.

That’s it for this update, but 2024 promises to be an exciting one, so we’ll be back with another update in the New Year.
